Looking for some Inspiration?
Even the best of architects need some inspiration. Naturally we take the local surroundings into context when creating new homes but the client brief is the most important starting point, after all it is you that will be ultimately living in the home.
The increasing global connectivity and popularity of social media sites like Pinterest and Instagram give a true picture of how world styles and attitudes are changing, about how we live our lives, about what we want from our family home and about how it should look.
We have put together a variety of boards on Pinterest over the many years, to inspire not only our designs but to help clients focus on what they want from their project.
So if you are looking for some inspiration for a home remodel, a new Self-Build home or just like to look at our changing world then why not take a look through our inspirational pages:
Self-Build & Custom Homes
Our Self-build board is full of styles from around the world, showcasing modern villas from Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and more.
Don’t be put off by the larger mansions, even these can provide great inspiration for smaller, more modest homes!
Entrances
Give your home some kerb appeal with a selection of entrances from porches to new front doors, rain canopies to porticos.
The inside can be just as important to give you a welcome home or wow your guests!
High & Vaulted Ceilings
If your looking to create a feeling of space get some inspiration for double-height rooms with open voids, or create vaulted ceilings with rooflights.
Kitchens
From its humble origins, the kitchen is now the heart of the home and the most popular reason to extend homes in the UK. We now want a family area that incorporates a multitude of functions, appliance types and seating for larger gatherings. We love the Australian styles with letterbox windows below wall units, combinations of colours and textures and the Australian “Butlers Pantry” feature.
Wardrobes
Creating space for clothes, bags and all those shoes! The walk-in-wardrobe is now top of many wishlists. Whether turning a spare bedroom into a haven for the shoeaholic, ending the floordrobe or creating from scratch, get it organised with built in or adjustable units.
Loft Conversions
The second most popular extension can give you ample space for additional bedrooms and en suites if designed correctly. Using Velux Cabrios, multiple skylights and built in furniture can make a huge difference to the space.
Historical Building Styles
If you’re looking for something more traditional, take a look at our Historical styles board with all the period styles from the UK and worldwide
Home Offices
With home working still on the increase, creating that space to separate work and home life is extremely important.
Whether turning a spare bedroom into a full office, creating a small area under the stairs or dividing a room we have plenty of ideas for you.
Staircases
Whether you have the space for a grand entrance statement or need to maximise storage in your 2 bedroom home, stairs can offer more than just a way to get to the next floor.
Garden Designs
The outdoor room is now just as important as the inside of the house, bringing the outside in and creating a space to enjoy the fresh air (UK weather permitting!). Here are some lovely ideas from small gardens and patios to the grander mansions for some inspiration.
Garden Buildings
Probably the third most popular addition to our homes, garden buildings can incorporate home working, gyms, storage and entertainment. We have a wide collection of pods, pergolas, alfresco dining and heated retreats for you.
We hope you liked our boards and found something to get your creative juices going. As they say, a picture paints a thousand words, and showing your architect/designer some of your favourite images can really help them to help you!
